The last time Peter Whitehead appeared at Talking Shop -- back in 2007 -- we mentioned Axicom Cohn & Wolfe founder Julian Tanner's description of how one of his clients evaluated coverage in the Financial Times.
"£5m for what you can raise in investment. £5m for what you will now win in sales. And £5m for what you will get extra at IPO."
Needless to say, that client was an investment banker. Times have changed. And as Peter Whitehead insisted at the time, it's also true that not all coverage is created equal.
But the banker's underlying point remains valid. Gaining coverage in the Financial Times remains a coveted objective for most of us.
Peter was appointed editor of FT Digital Business in early 2006. Three years on from his appointment, and two years after his last appearance at Talking Shop, it seems like a good time for an update on the mechanics of securing coverage at FT Digital Business. We hope you can join us on the evening of Tuesday 2nd June.
